Happy Hallow's Eve Encore! Fall is in full swing and we are quickly approaching the 2021 SF Ballet Season! To kick-off the celebrations with a bang, we are hosting an Encore! exclusive ballet-inspired fitness class with Corp de Ballet dancer Gabriela Gonzalez! When: Thursday, November 12th @ 6:00pm PST... What: The class will be inspired by ballet and aerobics with repetitive movements to identify, isolate, and work the muscles that shape and hold a dancer’s body. Focused on musicality, we warm up at the barre before moving into cardio and body shaping exercises in the center. We end on the floor for a final core sequence, followed by a good stretch and Q&A. The goal is to leave you sweaty and feeling great! How?: In order to attend the event, you must be an ENCORE member and register. Meet San Francisco E! Board Member & Co-President, Jamie! YEARS ON BOARD: 5 LIVES IN: San Francisco SFB PROGRAM MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO: A Midsummer Night's Dream! We had a wonderful ENCORE! event planned before everything shut down earlier this year and I've been so looking forward to finally seeing this incredible performance! ... FAVORITE SFB MOMENT: Gala this past year was truly magical; I loved the theme and the performance! It's such a lovely thing to think back on, particularly now that we haven't been able to gather like we used to! FUN FACT: I really love cooking (and baking) and used to run a little catering company. I still frequently cook for large groups of people, preparing everything in my SF apartment kitchen and have co-run events for up to 400 people at a time! It's a thrill! :) See more

SF Ballet just announced the 2021 Season will be presented digitally, and will incorporate its signature blend of beloved classics and brilliant new works. World premieres by Cathy Marston, Danielle Rowe, and Myles Thatcher captured on film will join story ballet favorites A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Romeo & Juliet, and Swan Lake, as well as much more. Happy Monday, Encore Family! Hoping everyone had an amazing and safe weekend. A letter from our presidents, Gary Williams & Jamie Lee Taylor, to kick off 2021 season + events: Before anything else, we hope you and your loved ones are remaining healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’d like to introduce ourselves as the new ENCORE! Co-Presidents. ENCORE! is dedicated to providing you exclusive and curated behind the curtain access throughout the 2021 season. We’re excited to... be hosting our first event of the season on November 12th, a ballet-inspired fitness class and Q&A with Corps de Ballet dancer Gabriela Gonzalez. We recognize that the pandemic has had an economic impact on many people, and we remain committed to keeping E! accessible; thus, we've temporarily moved membership dues to a sliding scale from $50 - $100. Your membership dues support San Francisco Ballet’s and ENCORE!’s mission and we thank you in advance for giving as much as you are able. You’ll be hearing more from us on the creative ways we’re keeping you engaged and in the know. We’ve got some great ideas, but we hope you have some ideas to help us, too. Please join ENCORE! for an under the stars screening of San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker in partnership with The Lark Movie Theater in Marin. Our unique, festive, and safe drive-in movie night will include candy canes, goodie bags, and festive Nutcracker photo ops! Helgi Tomasson's production, danced to Tchaikovsky's timeless score, is set in our beautiful city and includes over 150 costumed characters and a Christmas tree that grows to over 30 feet.
