What do you do when you can’t join your quilting buddies for a day of sewing anymore because you moved away? You join them online for a sew along! These are block 1 and 2 in the #sewcialitesqal by @fatquartershop! I have wanting to use my red, white, and gray American Feedsack collection for some time now and I think this is a great way to show them off. Sometimes the Feedsack prints blend together when next to each other but this plan to use one print per block really hi...ghlights each print really well next to the white! I fell in love with the modified layout by @pommesdeterres and it was actually the very inspiration I needed because she also used my colors! My change will be to use white in the blocks because it contrasts with my prints better although I would have loved the gray if I had one dark enough. Solid colors are very limited in Feedsack. The two gray prints on the right of the fabric photo with be used for the largest half square triangles. This turning out to be a great project for sewing with my #featherweight in my 5th Wheel! The hand quilting has begun and is going to be fun! I will do some big stitch quilting in some areas as well as some embroidery embellishments on the flowers

Such cute blocks! Still getting a chance to sew while at my daughter’s house in between feeding and snuggling the baby and exploring the central coast area.

A little piecing in the RV this week ...I got my start on a baby quilt! More peeks soon! I plan on hand quilting it with colorful big stitch quilting since my long arm is in storage. I really like big stitch quilting and may incorporate some ideas from the @agstitchclub I’m part too! I may not have updated our plans here... we are now wanderers in our fifth wheel with no home in site yet. Not sure when one will come our way so we have a few parks lined up until February. So for now this is home where we roam! And where I sew artisan quilts!

Finally! My three Sashiko panels! I started with modified Asagao on linen with peach and cream Sashiko thread. I also tried a template pattern with cream on peach Feedsack fabric for a hand towel... not realizing it’s much easier to do this type of repeating pattern when it actually repeats! One row is a little more awkward to do AND for an item that will be seen from both sides .... well let’s just say the back is not as nice And for number three I really wanted a pin d...ot on linen but could only find polka dots. The idea was to avoid the drawing of the grid ...for my lazy side! While I think pin dots will be better I’m still pleased with the outcome. I’m also still thinking about how to use the linen pieces ...leaning towards pillow and a small purse. And apparently I have a color theme! See more

After the straight couching practice I just had to come up with a couched paisley design. I’m using a chenille yarn for the couching yarn and Perle Cotton for the embroidery stitches. I have NO idea what I’ll do with it but it sure is fun to make ... as I sit here for days with my granddaughter watching a Harry Potter marathon as we wait for her new baby brother to come home from the hospital

August @agstitchclub is all about fun couching embroidery stitches. This sampler square will make a cut pillow for a little girls bed.

Kantha stitched placemats done and on the table It’s definitely enjoyable to slow stitch a few rows a night. The July AlisonGlassStitchClub project will be to learn Sashiko stitching. Similar in that it’s the running stitch but there’s soooooo many interesting patterns! I have one drawn out in the second picture for a band across the bottom of a hand towel to match the placements and a grid drawn out on linen for a pillow top that will have little x’s in one color and the second color will get woven through the x’s. Intrigued? Stay tuned! I can’t wait to see which one I like better! @ Californian RV Resort

I feel just a little more like an official RV Quilter since I actually got my outdoor setup up and running. I’m not making a quilt but I’m making bibs to go with the one I finished and posted earlier.

The first #kanthastitch placemat is finished! It consists of three layers of American Feedsack fabric and Wonderfil Perle Cotton by Alison Glass. I’ll be using the set of two I’m making for our RV kitchen table. Inspiration for this project is for participation in the #agstitchclub

OMGoodness! Getting a new phone set up is such a pain But it’s good to find my way back with the #agstitchclub project! I’m making two American Feedsack placements with this awesome thread from @wonderfilspecialtythread by @alisonglass #feedsack #kanthastitch #kantha #placemats #retro
