Tomorrow is Opening Day for the Saint Louis Cardinals! SPD collaborated with the Cordish Companies and the St. Louis Cardinals to design the branding, wayfinding, streetscape, and placemaking elements for Ballpark Village, St. Louis’ premier sports and entertainment destination. SPD designed a landmark 35’ World Series Trophy as the centerpiece of the dynamic mixed-use site, as well as Gateways, World Series Pennants, and Hall of Fame player medallions embedded in the landsc...ape pavement. Selbert Perkins Design is currently collaborating with the City of Las Vegas and YESCO on an iconic, new gateway that will create an exciting, branded arrival experience into Historic Downtown Las Vegas! The 80-foot-tall, vibrantly-lighted gateway is currently under construction and will cross over Las Vegas Boulevard at Sahara Boulevard. SPD developed a series of conceptual design studies that referenced the classic, over-the-top" Las Vegas sign legacy in creating the landm...ark gateway. Championed by Mayor Goodman, the City of Las Vegas ultimately chose the double arch design, which spans the street and creates a dynamic, high energy entry threshold into the historic downtown core. Andy will be a part of a dynamic panel presentation discussing how wayfinding design will impact the passenger experience in new generation airports.

The City of Los Angeles announced the construction commencement of the first two phases of Pershing Square, a large-scale park redevelopment in Los Angeles, California. This long-awaited project will break ground this year and provide Angelenos with an upscale and interactive public park and plaza in the heart of Downtown LA. It is officially happening! Los Angeles City Councilmember, José Huizar, told reporters and city staffers at an event last week. The Selbert Perkins Design team was onsite at Live! Casino & Hotel in Maryland last week checking out the very alive The Hall at Live! digital signage. The entry experience features 8.5’ tall digital letters with dynamic content to set the stage for the entertainment events and the rest of the experiential graphic design experience throughout the facility.
