Poetry reading at Other Books tonight for the release of Things That Go by Laura Eve Engel featuring additional readings by Shauna Barbosa and Henry Hoke!

We're going to be here all Saturday with a wide selection of comics and books from the shop!

Next Thursday we will have Kristian Williams over at Other Books discussing his newest title Between the Bullet and the Lie: Essays on Orwell in which he examines Orwell's ability to elucidate concepts of democracy and fascism in accessible literary classics and looks at Orwell through the lens of current politics. Please join us for what we hope will be a lively discussion! We will also have copies on hand of Williams' previous book Our Enemies in Blue: Police and Power in America, a study of how violence and use of force is built into the core of law enforcement in America.

This Friday night Other Books will be open late for the LA release of Cuntry, to celebrate the new book from Kristin Sanders we will have readings from Vi Khi Nao, Myriam Gurba, Danielle Pafunda, and Elizabeth Hall!

This weekend we'll be participating in this Gathering of Latina Writers. There will be readings, talks, and tables like ours filled with a selection of Latinx literature!

Over at Other this Friday is a special reading celebrating the recent publication of three new books: Janet Sarbanes' The Protestor Has Been Released, Jess Arndt's Large Animals, and Carribean Fragoza's K-12.

We will be open until 11pm this Saturday with beats playing from local artists starting at 7pm!

Seite / Other Books will be selling books all day Saturday and Sunday at our Smokin' Hot Indie Lit Lounge at L.A. Times Festival of Books! Come see us at Booth 380 for titles like these.

Join poet Hari Alluri this Saturday at Other in a workshop using collage to generate writing that interrogates our relationship to where we are from. Open to all ages and all writing levels.
