Sebastopol Mutual Aid 12.02.2021

Welcome everyone, We're setting up a hub for people to share resources, get emotional support or help with small chores like grocery deliveries, getting medication, etc. If you would like to chat to someone who can lend an empathetic ear or you would like to offer support to people who are feeling alone during this time, You can post on this page or reach out to Terra who will be coordinating conversations and support for people. [email protected] If you need plant... starts, food or other resources please come to our stand. If you have resources you would like to drop off , i.e plant starts, seeds, extra produce or fruit from trees or produce from the store or gardens, extra masks, toilet paper, essential items etc. etc. You can drop them off at 1317 Apple Blossom Ct or contact Coby at [email protected]. There are several coolers and an extra large fridge to store items in. There will be a sanitation station with sanitizer spray and rags to clean all items but please try to bring all items cleaned and washed. Harriet will be coordinating grocery and med deliveries. Please contact her at [email protected] If you are in need of a delivery or would like to volunteer to deliver to someone who needs support at this time. Covid-19 Mutual Aid USA is a group of volunteers supporting local community groups focused on providing aid. https://www.usacovidmutualaid.org/about Mutual aid is a voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit. Mutual aid is arguably as ancient as human culture: an intrinsic part of the small, communal societies universal to humanity's ancient past. From the dawn of humanity, until far beyond the invention of agriculture, humans were foragers, exchanging labor and resources for the benefit of groups and individuals alike. The current pandemic has paused many of our consumptive patterns and can allow us to reimagine a society that is based on mutual support and networks of mutual aid.
