Today marks one year of Sea Salt & Skin! One year ago today I was a nervous wreck, greeting clients and hoping they would like what we’d done with the space. I remember thinking then how I couldn’t wait to make it to the one year mark. I thought surely I’d be making a paycheck by then, we’d have every room filled with estheticians and we could throw a huge party to celebrate our one year anniversary! Welp the last year hasn’t looked anything like I imagined. Even though there will be no big party this evening, I’ll still be raising my glass to each and every one of you - our amazing clients who have made our last year so memorable and rewarding. I am so grateful for each and everyone of you! Cheers!

HOT OFF THE PRESS!! San Diego salons are allowed to reopen starting NEXT WEEK! We’re planning to reopen on Tuesday September 1st! Clients who had appointments already booked before the second shutdown will get first priority, followed by those who have requested to be on our call back list. Once we get all of those people booked, we will reopen our online booking. ... We’ve been approved to reopen indoor operations with modifications. Once we get word on what those modifications are, we will start calling back clients to book (probably Sunday or Monday). Please be patient with us as we have a lot of people to call back! 150 days closed due to COVID-19. ONE. HUNDRED. AND. FIFTY. When I opened Sea Salt & Skin last October, I never could have imagined what my first year of business ownership would look like. I knew it was going to be hard, but I didn’t know it was going to be global pandemic hard. Not only has this been crushing financially, it has wrecked me emotionally. My husband deployed in the middle of all this craziness which brought on feelings of extreme loneliness and isolation. I ...cried the first time I felt safe enough to give someone a hug, because I so deeply craved physical touch and connection. I miss working. I miss having a routine. I miss going into the salon and seeing my girls everyday. I am so grateful for them. I miss talking and laughing with all of our amazing clients. I miss everything about life before March of 2020. I can’t wait for all of this to be over, but until then we will continue to do our best to stay in business. I’ve come too far to give up now. I owe it to myself, but more importantly I owe it to my girls and our amazing community. We will keep fighting. Our government has failed our industry, but I refuse to give up.
