Goodbye 2020. Hello 2021! A new year means new opportunities to join the j flag committee. We have a few spots open and are always looking for fresh faces and ideas for our events and races. If you’ve thought about joining but aren’t sure about the commitment, this is the year to do it! We’re anticipating few events for Q1 and Q2, and you can easily participate virtually! Hopefully by summer we’ll be able to resume our usual events like thirsty Thursdays, pavilion bbqs, and our highly anticipated annual Buffalo Beach camping trip. Help us make 2021 a great year (you have an easy task after 2020!!). DM us for more info on open positions or send us ideas for virtual / socially distanced events.

It's that time of year again! We're thrilled to announce that the 3rd annual Buffalo Beach Camping Trip is on the calendar! Join us for four days of sailing, swimming, and hiking adventures on SDYC's private beach on Catalina island. We're expecting great weather, a fun group, and plenty of freshly caught seafood for our traditional bbq potluck dinner. If you've never been and always wanted to go, we hope you'll join! Summer is almost over but don’t think we’re done with events for the year. Our 2nd annual Buffalo Beach Camping Trip is around the corner and this year we’re planning even more fun stuff, since last year was a first time for most of us, now we’re pros! Thursday, October 31st - Sunday, November 3rd. Weekend highlights: Halloween Party... Costume Contest Sailing Fishing Hiking Sunset Cocktails Games Campfire S’mores and more!! Accommodations: 5 Tents (4 people max per tent) yurt style, hard bottom. Lodge has queen bed on main floor and 2 single beds on second floor. Room for dry storage and ice chest. Any questions, DM us. Hey gang, If you haven't already heard, we are hosting a TOP GUN movie night at SDYC at 7:30pm tonight! This is a JFlag hosted event but all members are welcome, especially those with trivia-level quote knowledge, and karaoke fans ready to belt out Great Balls of Fire, You've Lost That Loving Feeling, and of course Take My Breath Away!! Meet us in the bar for a drink beforehand, or head straight to the Pavillion where we'll have a big screen and snacks. Amelia Coultas is even... making us a yummy dessert! Recommend bringing lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. The movie will start at 8pm. Any questions, please let us know!
