Fresno's ........ "Sounds of Mardi Gras Festival" HAS BEEN CANCELLED for FEBRURARY I have posted ALL over social media and websites. The DoubleTree still has ...some reservations that have not been cancelled. """""please forward this to everyone""""" We are still currently awaiting word on possible moving the festival to July 2021. (right now ..maybe the 3rd weekend) Hopefully that will not interfere with other festivals...gigs...) update on vaccines.. So far, my hospital is giving out the 2nd dose. no real side effects. ARM ACHES.... headache. diarrhea.. slight fever are some of the complaints from my co-workers. mostly the arm soreness. They are only taking Tylenol for the pain which is helping. Lots of Covid out there still. There seems to be 3 types of sickness. 1.Very mild 2.sick like the flu with aches, pains and fever. 3. VERY sick with low oxygen level. These patients are the ones that we admit. So.. stay safe. Wear you mask. Wash your hands. DO NOT be around anyone that is sick with a cough or that they just don't feel very well. MOSTLY... don't let your guard down. That is when you will expose yourself and catch this awful Covid Virus.

AFCDJS was saddened to learn of the passing of long-time patron and avid Jazz fan, Cal Calabrese, at the age of 100. Cal hailed from Buffalo, NY, where he met his lovely wife, Lola, in 1940, and made their way to San Diego in the late 1960s. They discovered and joined AFCDJS in 1980 and attended every SD Jazz Fest to date! They also attended other festivals all over the world in their 71 years of marriage. Cal was a great supporter of our organization, and a good friend to the hundreds, if not thousands of people that were lucky enough to cross paths with him over the years. Our condolences to Lola and their children, Dale and Darlene. Rest in peace, Cal.

AFCDJS would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Pat Coe. Pat worked in our office for years, volunteered for many more, was a great performer, and most importantly, a good friend. RIP... you will be missed.
