It’s now time for current students to enroll for SDCYB’s spring classes. As always, we thank you in advance for your patience as our staff enrolls everyone, a task that is now even more challenging than when we are able to enroll in the office. Remember that if you are a current student, your spot is held through this Saturday, so as long as you call us this week, we can guarantee you’ll be good to go. The enrollment number is 619-917-1393, open 12pm to 6pm (Monday to Friday) and 9am to 12pm (Saturday). New students can begin enrolling on Tuesday, January 19th. More info and class schedule available at www.sdcyb.org.
Dancing into the weekend...
Check out this brand new, wonderful video from www.loveinyourpark.com. It’s a lovely burst of much-needed positivity, all filmed in and inspired by our beloved home, Balboa Park.
Our Spring 2021 Semester is approaching and the class schedule is now available at www.sdcyb.org! We can’t wait to continue sharing our love of the ballet with students in San Diego and all over the country!

Wishing everyone an amazing 2021, full of love, laughter and of course, ballet!
Every Friday this November, join us as we share special messages from members of our SDCYB community, explaining why they are thankful for ballet, especially right now! Learn more about us at www.sdcyb.org.
Here’s a happy moment of serenity.
Thank you to everyone who already voted or is voting in the election today!
In the fifth episode of SDCYB’s "Student Spotlight series, Miss Samantha met with a set of two dancers who have been best friends for many, many years: Sophie & Mila. Both of them are in Level 2B and have continued to stay dedicated to their ballet training as SDCYB has shifted to virtual classes via Zoom. We will be taking a break from our Student Spotlights for November, but we will still be back next Friday with another special video message!
Back in September, we offered our dancers a lecture about protecting their mental health during this challenging time, led by psychotherapist, counselor and former professional dancer, Terry Hyde. He was featured in Pointe Magazine this week, and there's even a little shoutout to SDCYB! :)
Check out this amazing interview with our Artistic Director, Danika Pramik-Holdaway with Shoutout SoCal! How lucky we are to have such an inspiring leader on our team during this challenging time.
In this fourth installment of SDCYB’s "Student Spotlight series, we are speaking with a set of twins, Olivia (3A/3B) & Ruby (Beginning Teen) Rivera. These two dancers face a lot of challenges dancing from home, but they’ve also found a lot of joy in it as well. Hear more about their story and also, if you know a dancer like Ruby who might want to give ballet a try during this challenging time (and remember, they can live outside of San Diego!), we still have spots available in our Beginning Teen class. Visit www.sdcyb.org for enrollment details. You can expect another spotlight video next Friday - who will it be?
Do you know about our Ballet for a Day program? Available for schools, large groups and Scout troops, this virtual experience gets students up and moving, provides them with a deeper understanding of the language of dance and gives them the skills to create unique, safe and meaningful dances on their own. For more info on how to offer this program, visit www.sdcyb.org/balletforaday.
This virtual event is happening tomorrow with our Balboa Park friends at The Old Globe Arts Engagement. It’s part of their Creative Youth Studio programming and we think some of you might be interested in checking it out! SDCYB, as always, is grateful to be a part of such a thriving art community, even throughout this pandemic.
In our next installment of SDCYB’s "Student Spotlight series, we once again are chatting with sisters, this time Stella & Clare Gruta. This is a chance to hear from a pair of our younger students as Stella and Clare are in Levels 1B & Pre-Ballet, respectively. These dancers inspire us, as does the clear love they have for ballet. See you next Friday for another episode!
We only have a couple more weeks to earn our 2020 badge from GreatNonprofits and in order to receive it, we still need some more reviews from supporters like you who know us best. If you have a few minutes today, please visit www.greatnonprofits.org, search for SDCYB, and briefly share how our ballet school has impacted your life. Thank you so much for your support!
It’s still Arts & Humanities month, and today’s campaign theme with Americans for the Arts is Art In My Home. So, we thought it would be a great chance to highlight our student dancers, whose homes have been transformed into ballet studios for these past 6.5 months. #ShowYourArt2020
Happy Monday to all our followers!
October is National Arts & Humanities Month and Americans for the Arts is once again doing their Show Your Art social media campaign. It’s more important than ever to celebrate art during these times, and since today’s theme is Dance Off, we decided to share one of our favorite photos. #ShowYourArt2020
