Inland Empire cities got best-in-region scores in one financial website’s grading of places that first-time homeowners should consider. The grading was not very kind to the 82 California cities, placing 46 in the bottom quarter of the rankings. Relatively speaking, Riverside and San Bernardino counties were the best in the region covered by the Southern Califo...rnia News Group. The Inland Empire was home to five of the state’s 20 best performances: Temecula (No. 106), Murrieta (151), Moreno Valley (162), Fontana (164) and Corona (168). Los Angeles County had three: Palmdale (170), Lancaster (174) and Ontario (177). Orange County had just Irvine (176). The Inland Empire’s worst grade was in San Bernardino (240); L.A.
