In order to keep our volunteers and community safe we will be closed for the remainder of the week. Please spread the word to anyone you may know that volunteers with us or receives or services.

Susan Caputo, Executive Director of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, today announced her retirement, effective at the end of October. She has served in the position since 2018, after having served as a member of the organization’s board of directors. Susan provided strong leadership at a time of transition for the Food Pantry, for which we’re grateful, said Patrick Mullen, president of the pantry’s board of directors. This year, in the face of an awful pandemic, she ...successfully modified the pantry’s procedures to ensure the safety of our clients, volunteers, and staff, while making it possible for the pantry to continue to serve our community during a time of heightened need," he added. "We thank her for that. The SCV Food Pantry is dedicated to addressing food insecurity in our community, Caputo said. I am honored to have served as a board member and executive director and will continue to be a partner and friend of the pantry. At the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, we believe that no person in the Santa Clarita Valley should go to bed hungry. Established in 1986, the SCV Food Pantry is a non profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. Our goal is to meet the current and future hunger needs of our neighbors and to ensure self-sufficiency through active partnerships with other organizations within our community. We serve families and individuals who are living in uncertainty, seeking assistance and looking for a better life. James Espinoza will serve as Interim Executive Director during the search process for a permanent director.

PSA: To all those we serve please take notice of the included map. There will be 2 lines on Tuesday, November 24th for our turkey giveaway. There are no pre-registrations. This will be a first come first serve event. Operating hours will be from 8 am to 12 pm. The red line is for those looking to get a turkey kit. The yellow line is for those looking to receive our general pantry items.... Reminder to keep social distancing, wear a mask, be patient, and respect others when visiting our pantry.

It has been such a busy week here at the pantry and every donation has made a big difference for hungry families. Please help us restock our shelves with essential food items we need at the pantry to give out to those in need in our community. Canned: Fruit Tomatoes... Beans Tuna Chicken Soup Chili Dry: Beans Rice Pasta Mac n Cheese Ramen Peanut Butter

With little slow down from people in need during this pandemic our shelves are sadly missing key items. Please help us restock the shelves with these items: Canned: Beans Tomatoes... Soups Chili Fruit Veggies Dry: Beans Rice Pasta Macaroni and cheese Peanut Butter Ramen Donations can be dropped off in the back of the building with one of our volunteers or in the night drop box.

Our highest needs are for Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Our drivers are key volunteers that keep our operation running. Please contact us if you are interested in helping your community.

We will be closed on September 7th in recognition of Labor Day. Please come back and see us after during our regular schedule operating hours.

Thank you to all the organizations and community members for the recent food donations. These donations are making a difference in this time of great need. Some of you have asked if we accept donations other than food and the answer is, yes. We take: -Hygiene products (soap, body wash, shampoo, baby wipes, diapers etc.)... -Cleaning products (sanitizing wipes, laundry detergent, dish detergent, etc.) -Gloves (Nitrile and Latex, Sizes: S, M, L, XL) -Monetary Donation (Preferably check or paypal, but we still accept cash and un-used gift cards) Here at the pantry we go through gloves a lot as we try to keep things sanitized and prevent any skin contact to surfaces and food. It is difficult for us to replenish the amount of gloves we go through because of the scarcity and rise in cost. If you have ease of access or a spare box of disposable gloves we would greatly appreciate your contribution to keep us running our daily operations.
