Before running the full print, we tested key features with small prototypes to limit wasted material and time. In this case, we were confirming the tolerance of the holes printed could be tapped with the proper size threads.
Prototyping potential disinfectant bottle holders. We tested ideas with cardboard to get general size/concept then tried different manufactuing materials and processes. From left to right- aluminum/metal working equipment, acrylic/laser cutter and plastic bender, PETG/3D printer.

ENGR2 final projects. After a quarter of learning about the different equipment in the Maker Lab students make use of multiple tools/equipment for a single project- Epilog Laser cutter, Silhouette Cameo, Carvey CNC Mill, Prusa 3D Printer.

Held a t-shirt making workshop with some of the leaders from RSOs on campus. Used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out custom heat transfer designs and apply them to t-shirts. Center for Student Involvement

Did you know you can make custom buttons in Maker Lab? We have a button maker for custom 2" buttons.
One of the first projects from the ENGR 2 class- custom notebook. Used laser cutter to engraved and cut acrylic for covers. Used paint to color in the engraved text. Used Silhouette Cameo to make 2 layered tool sticker. Used binding machine to punch paper and add the comb binding.
Another one of the final projects from the ENGR2 course- sumo bot. The course is being offered again spring quarter. The student used the laser cutter, Silhouette Cameo, and OtherMill to make this project. Stay tuned for more projects!
