SCSOPA is a great institute to learn and build your skills in Hollywood. They offer a range of different classes so you can be prepared to work in the industry. My best advice is: Take the classes seriously if you want to prosper in Hollywood and have a successful career. I went from studying my scenes and having them prepared... for class to now studying my scenes and having them be prepared to be shot on set, working with some great names in this industry. I have worked on television, movies, short films, commercials, live plays and even voiceovers. I knew I had to work my tail off and I am proud to say that because of my hard work and dedication - and with the help of SCSOPA who provided the opportunity for agents and managers to come check me out weekly - I was able to work with Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow, Ellen Barkin, James Franco, Cee Lo Green and more. Most recently, I worked with Amy Poehler on her hit film on Netflix, 'Moxie.' I play a supporting role in the movie, 'Jason Garza.' It is in the top 10 on Netflix. As seen in Inside SCV Magazine: I would like to start by saying how extremely excited I was to take my daughters to Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts! Growing up out here in the SCV, I always heard great things about SCSOPA! My daughters are 5 and 9. My 9 year old has wanted to act since she was 3. My husband works in the entertainment business on Disney’s ‘Bunked,’ and we really wanted them to wait until they were a little bit older. We knew when they were ready we ...would take them to SCSOPA. Mike is amazing! We came in not knowing anything or how much it might cost. Mike really worked with us and our budget to make this happen for our girls! This is a very unique place. It is a one-stop-shop for all your acting needs and the best thing is - I don’t have to leave the SCV. With four kids, this makes everything so much easier. Not to mention every Saturday, agents come to SCSOPA to see the students audition. We’d been with SCSOPA for only a week when we went to our very first Saturday audition to meet an agent. The kids memorized a commercial and auditioned in front of an agent! We got a call back already - and it was their first time auditioning. Support Santa Clarita resident Matthew Josten as he steals the show on the Netflix binge-worthy original series, Sneakerheads, which tells the hysterical story of a stay-at-home dad, his shoe-loving friends and an international hunt for sneakers.

Ever since we were little we loved performing, modeling, singing and all sorts of musical activities. We always knew what we wanted to be when we grew up - we wanted to be actresses! Then, in elementary school, we started performing and appearing in many school plays as the lead parts. As we became more and more interested, we read about successful actors and actresses -... some who went to acting school. So we asked our mom to find the best school. We searched and searched and had no luck finding the right fit - until one day we found the perfect school. We drove from San Diego to the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts (SCSOPA) and had a great talk with Mike and his staff. They had affordable prices, and the teachers and students were really nice. They also had a selection of awesome classes, and we started the same day. Jacob has been in two commercials since attending SCSOPA. Then about 4 years ago, our neighbor told us about the Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts and suggested we attend their Open House. We signed her up the next day, and soon after attending the Saturday auditions and classes, she was signed up with an agency. Her passion for acting and the great teachers here at SCSOPA have helped her ...star in films such as 'Summon a Fiend' and 'Landing' as well as TV shows like 'Reverie' and 'Zoe Valentine.' Currently she is on set for the 'Grey's Anatomy' spin-off 'Station 19.' She is working hard on her career, and besides filming, she is taking classes with SCSOPA that helps her grow as an actress. In the 11 years that I have been acting, I have never come across a studio that has as much to offer as SCSOPA. My family and I moved to LA when I was 13. I was looking for a performing arts studio where I really felt like I belonged. I have tried about every other acting studio in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. Through a friend, I was ...referred to SCSOPA. My family and I went to an open house and were blown away with all of the amazing opportunities that the school has to offer. We signed up and started with classes right away. I also started meeting with the agents that next Saturday, because sure enough, it was the agency I wanted so desperately to be with. Mike and his staff have displayed only kindness and professionalism towards our family. The staff is incredibly educated in the industry and only wants the best for us. We were able to obtain an agent as well as a manager very quickly. We have received several opportunities to au...dition and have already been given a role in a movie. The teachers have been able to help our kids with teamwork and communication skills amongst many others. Our daughter, Sophia, walked into the program shy and unable to collaborate with others. Now she has grown into a team-player and has become more comfortable with speaking to adults and her peers. Our son Jacob has been able to develop superb memorization and acting skills for his future career. In addition, our daughter Mykayla, who is currently 4 years old, is already learning to memorize commercials as well as introduce herself to adults.
