Quarantine makes snacking easy and when combined with the stresses COVID-19 has brought, we’re craving sugar and carbs. CANDY is cheap and delicious, making it incredibly convenient right now. However, candy is a fast track to chasing cavities or making existing cavities worse. Being mindful of what you snack on right now, along with good oral hygiene, will help keep your mouth happy.
#quarantinelife may have you bored and reaching for our go-to caffeinated beverage. COFFEE! Did you know COFFEE contains tannins which are plant-based substances that cause teeth to stain gradually over time. ANTI-COFFEE-STAIN PRO-TIP:... Federal mandates have limited our office to see emergency patients only so good oral health is more important than ever! Spend some of your #quarantinelife taking care of your teeth and gums. Did you know gum disease, like gingivitis and periodontitis, is a contributing factor to HEART DISEASE? Not brushing & flossing allows bacteria to sit in your mouth and can lead to infected gums that bleed easily. When your gums bleed, the bacteria gains direct access into your blood stream.
#quarantinelife has been very stressful - but did you know that stress can cause you to grind your teeth in your sleep? This condition, known as Bruxism, gradually wears down your teeth over time and can lead to pounding headaches. We hope that as we #flattenthecurve in our homes, you can remember to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and remember that everyone is in this together, and we'll all make it out together.
Avoid a relapse by replacing your toothbrush after an illness, and at least every 3-months! #SanFrancisco
