Tip of the day. If you have a tub/shower combo, when you operate the tub spout diverter. Water may leak from the tub spout. Sometime this can cause water to spray back in the wall. This is an example of this situation. This home was just remodeled, so no one had used the tub/shower. Can you imagine how much damage could have occurred if this had gone unnoticed????

Tip of the day. Before having a home inspected, make sure the electrical outlets are accessible for testing and evaluating. While these child proof safety covers are great for keeping outlets safe for children, that can be a hindrance for a home inspector that needs to check them. Please remove these safety covers prior to a home inspection. As per most respectable Home Inspection Standards of Practice, outlets should be readily accessible. Only one outlet needs to be checke...d per room as the minimum standard. Some inspectors will check more outlets as long as they are accessible. That's what we do. However, it's a real pain when we have to remove these safety covers. Especially when the outlets are newer and really hold on to those safety covers. Depending on how many are covered, it may not be feasible to check all of them and defer to the minimum standard of one per room. See more
