On June 22nd we celebrated Kate’s one-year work anniversary...my how the time flies. Kate has been licensed for almost 5 years and is a crucial part of our team. I've seen the aftermath of people who have experienced the sudden loss of a loved one with and without life insurance. Here are some of the top reasons that have me passionate about life insurance. Just a note, I primarily suggest term life insurance which is the most affordable option available. #1 Allows people to gr...ieve differently. The last thing our families need is to have a financial crisis on top of a family crisis. Life Insurance will allow our families to grieve together without having to figure out how to pay the mortgage or put food on the table. #2 Allows people to maintain current lifestyle. If the primarily wage earner passes away, would you have to downsize your home, or move to a more cost effective part of town (which could result in a change of schools)? Did you know that the #1 cause of house fires is COOKING. Although Thanksgiving may look different this year due to COVID, the risk of house fires remains the same. Here are a few ideas to ensure you and your family are safe this holiday season. 1. Test your fire/smoke alarms this week. 2. Know where your fire extinguishers are. 3. Stay focused...don't leave kitchen when cooking on stove top.... 4. Don't fry turkeys next to the structure of your home (or at all) 5. Ensure oven and stove are clean before cooking 6. Minimize use of candles. 7. Dress wisely. Don't wear items that may flow freely when cooking. 8. Keep children and pets out of kitchen as much as possible. 9. Stay calm if a fire occurs. Turn off oven if possible. Don't throw water on grease fire. If you can't manage flames, evacuate and call 911. Stay safe and enjoy this season with your families. Blessings!!!

I have an elderly client who was in an auto accident a few days ago. This was her first accident and she was very shaken up. I was able to navigate the claims process with her in a way she could understand (without all the insurance jargon). I was also able to get information on a witness who acknowledged she was not at-fault. When I called the other company they said their driver claimed my client ran a stop sign. Based on the details and pictures of the accident, I di...dn't feel the other driver was being truthful. I decided to drive to the intersection of where the accident occurred and found a local business that had recently installed new exterior cameras. The business owner will be sending me the footage to confirm the facts of this incident. My point in all of this...it's good to have a local agent who can (and is willing) to fight on your behalf.
