Congratulations to senior Kyra Stewart on her selection to the South Coast 1st Team All League! Kyra has been a dominate guard throughout her high school career, and will be continuing to play at the next level at Simon Fraser University. Kyra has so many weapons..can hit the 3, can create in the lane, and also is a lock-down defender. But her biggest attributes were her leadership and steady presence throughout the last two season. Breakdown of a change of direction move for 9th grade multi-sport athlete @zona_rose on the soccer field this past weekend. Zona plays softball, soccer and basketball. As one can see from the pictures, so many athletic movements cross all sports. This change of direction in soccer also happens all the time on the basketball court. It is so important to keep youth athletes playing as many sports as possible. It keeps it fresh, fun, healthy and will help develop them into complete athletes when they get to high school. Missing basketball as much as we are?? Check out a few plays from our team this last season. We work a lot on making the correct read. First three highlights are of the same play, and we read the defense each time. The final three highlights are showing our team side...setting each other up and making the extra pass to get the easy basket. Enjoy!

Defense is the key! Our five points of emphasis: 1 - We guard the ball as 5 2 - Communication... 3 - Sprint 4 - Always see player and ball 5 - Allow only 1 shot Some defensive highlights vs league opponents.
