Here's a great way to help support local businesses. GiftFremont! This new program encourages you to purchase gift cards in support of participating Fremont-based businesses, with an added incentive from the City. The site allows mom and pop shops, family-run restaurants, local boutiques and not to mention your favorite lawn mower shop ;) to market their products and services and give you the ability to purchase eGift cards for those businesses. This program is unlike any ...gift card program currently available, as it offers a win-win model for both the businesses and you buying gift cards. To encourage the community to participate in the program, the City has set aside an initial funding of $5,000 which will be used, in part, to offer a bonus on gift card purchases as stated below: $5 bonus on purchased gift card valued at $20 or more $15 bonus on purchased gift card valued at $40 or more Go to GiftFremont to learn more and to purchase git cards https://app.yiftee.com/gift?start_with=gift&aff=87#/merchant
Old Glory is back flying proudly again! FLAG UPDATE... we recovered our stolen flag in the empty lot down the street where the house burned down when the 2 Fremont police officers were shot a couple years ago. Since I posted the original post we have received a tremendous out pouring of support from family, friends and community with many donations of flags and offers of replacement flags.... Although our original flag did not cost us much monetarily, the Flag has cost many everything! I think this is why it has struck such a cord with so many people. Apparently the thin blue line flag has also caused some people angst. So much that they have claimed our business as being racist and calling for a boycott of our business and trying to have us shut down after 50 years. Everyone who knows us, knows this is not who we are or what we represent! We flew the thin blue line flag that day because it was Peace Officer Memorial Day. We support the men and women in blue. Our company is proud to wear our Lawn Enforcement shirts because of it. We did not fly the thin blue line flag with any ill harm towards any particular group. We flew the flag with good intentions. I flew the Gadsden flag the next day as a stand for Freedom. It is my understanding the Gadsden flag was flown when Washington and the Continental Army were fighting for freedom against Britain and had nothing to do with slavery or racism. I flew the Gadsden flag because a lot of Americans are under lock down and are wanting their freedom. The Don't Tread On Me part hit home since I felt 2 people had tread on me by stealing my previous flag. Once again it had nothing to do with race or racism as some people have claimed. I understand there is pain out there and Black Lives Matter. Flying these flags had nothing to do with racism on our part. I'm hoping the people from BLM try to understand that while we try to understand a little more of where they are coming from and the hurt and pain they feel! We as a society need to have more civilized dialogue with each other and not just constantly have a knee jerk reaction to situations we are not fully vested in. I want to thank all the many people who have already come to our defense. I hope we can all work together to continue to make this world a better place for all of us to live, regardless of our differences. John Schaa
Honoring all our fallen officers on Peace Officers Memorial Day. Praying for the ones and their families who continue to protect and serve us.

A friend’s truck was stolen from his driveway in Fremont on April 2nd at 2:18 am. Please keep an eye out for it. It’s a white Ford with tool boxes and Watkin’s Landscape signs on the doors. Please share

"We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause." -- Ronald Reagan Thank you to all who served our great Nation!
