Continue to safely socialize at a park during #nationalpicnicmonth. Remember to pack moist towelettes in case there isn't running water to wash your hands. Clean hands can greatly reduce the risk of foodborne illnesses & germs. #Washyourhands #Getvaccinated #WeAreSCCOE

Clean Beaches Week, Earth Day for beaches, recognizes and embraces the importance of clean beaches. Beaches can be gorgeous and fun if they are well taken care of! Scientists estimate that approximately 8 million metric tons of plastic end up in our oceans and on our beaches each year whether the waste is from plastic bottles and straws or from errant plastic bags. It’s important we all do our part to make sure they stay clean for generations to come. It’s important everyone understand how funding and policy decisions impact children’s lives. In partnership with the Local Early Education Planning Council, Kids in Common, and Strong Start of Santa Clara County, the County Office of Education has launched an online Voter’s Guide on Children’s Issues at sccvoteforkids.org. For this guide each candidate running for selected local, state or federal offices in Santa Clara County was asked to answer five questions about their priorities for children. Candidates were given several weeks to respond to the survey; the responses are in their words and are unedited. * The Voter’s Guide is informational only and no endorsement of any candidate is intended.*

It's Unity Day! Make it ORANGE and make BULLYING end! What are your true colors when it comes to showing that you believe that all youth should be safe from bullying? Come together in one giant ORANGE message of hope and support, WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to color our nation, and even the world, visibly showing that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying. ORANGE provides a powerful, visually compelling expression of solidarity, said Paula Goldberg, E...xecutive Director of PACER Center. Whether it’s hundreds of individuals wearing ORANGE, store owners offering ORANGE products, or a community changing a landmark to ORANGE, the vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, sending the supportive, universal message that bullying is never acceptable behavior. https://www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm/unity-day.asp #WeAreSCCOE #BullyingPrevention #UnityDay
