Being a Friends member is a wonderful, inexpensive way to support your library that also benefits you. You get 10% off in our bookstore great if you’re a serial reader and it gets you into our monthly book sales 1 hour before the general public, so you get access to the best selection. Since our in-person sales are on hold until the coronavirus situation improves, our Friends Membership clock won't start until we're able to have book sales again. Buying a Friends membersh...ip ($15 per person, $25 per family) is an inexpensive way for you to support your library and set yourself up to save at our book sales. Thank you for supporting your library and your community by buying a Friends membership!
It's Presidents Day, and therefore the Library and the Foundation & Friends are both closed today.thanks for understanding, and have a great day!
We just wanted to give a big congratulations to all the winners of our Librarypalooza trivia rounds: Matt A, The Nelsons, and Tule Read! They each won at least one round of trivia (one won two rounds!), and Matt A had the highest score overall. We'll be reaching out soon to get you your prizes!
A huge thanks for your support this year for Librarypalooza! We had a great time and hope you did too.

One of your New Year’s Resolutions might be to get your estate plan together or to update it, if you already have one. If you are doing so, please consider adding The Santa Clara City Library Foundation & Friends to your estate plan. By supporting us, you’re supporting the library and your community through the resources and classes and events the library is able to provide its patrons. None of that would happen without your support, and adding us to your trust or will is an easy way to show your love of the library. Please contact your estate planning attorney to add SCCLFF to your estate plan.
From the bottom of our hearts: thank you for everything you did for the Foundation and Friends, for the Library, and for your community in 2020. There is nothing more heartwarming than knowing everyone is taking care of everyone else as safely as they can. Thank you for donating, for volunteering, and for being patient and staying home to slow down this wretched virus. We don't know what 2021 will bring, but there appears to be a sliver of hope. We hope we get to see you (and hope to accept your book donations again!) sometime in this new year. We couldn't do this without your help and support - thank you for everything.
Happy New Year! It's finally 2021 - we wish you all a healthy and safe new year, full of the stories you like best.
November is the month of saying thank you and being grateful. Personally, it’s one of my favorite months for just that reason! If the library is one of the places that you’re grateful for, or its resources have helped you, consider thanking us by adding us to your will or trust. This is an easy way to let us and the world know how much you care about the library and everything it does for the community. Thank you for considering this option, and thank you for your support thr...oughout the years! If you are interested in making a donation to the library in your trust or estate plan, please contact your family or estate attorney.
Tomorrow is Halloween! We hope you have a good day celebrating however you want/are able to. Enjoy!
A gentle reminder that we are celebrating our 20th anniversary! Head over to our website - LoveTheLibrary.org - to find stories and more about our past and present.
The Mission City Community Fund is one of our biggest supporters - we honored them at Librarypalooza in 2016. They help us with Summer Reading and Read Santa Clara; their virtual gala is on Saturday November 7. Head over to their website to find more info and to register to support them so they can continue to support us!
Hey everyone, the Library is closing curbside services while both Central and Northside are voting centers from October 31 to November 3. This will allow everyone to vote safely and for curbside to not interfere with voting. The Library will be re-opening on November 4 - so please plan your hold pick-ups accordingly.
Our Mission Library Renovation Campaign has been over for awhile, and the major donors have their rooms named after them and their plaques affixed to the walls at the Mission Branch Library. I'm proud to announce that all of the donors to the Mission Library Campaign are now up on our website. You can head over to the donors page on our website to see all of the people and organizations that helped make the Mission Library Renovation such a success!
Proud to support a library that's making its patrons happy!
One fo the best ways to support the Foundation & Friends right now is to buy our books on Amazon! Just go to: https://www.amazon.com/s and browse to your heart's content. Choose anything you want to buy, and shop like normal.
I used AmazonSmile this morning when I bought more manilla file folders, since I'm carrying files back and forth between the office and home so much more often now. And I supported my community while I did it! You can help too - all you have to do is start your shopping trip at smile.amazon.com or type the following into your browser: smile.amazon.com/ch/91-2125234. A small amount of your purchase will make its way back to us. AmazonSmile is an easy way for you to support your library and your community, all while getting your errands taken care of!
Every year, the American Library Association (ALA) has a contest to find the best librarians. From their website: Has a librarian made a difference in your life? Nominations for this year’s I Love My Librarian Award are open until November 9, 2020. Ten amazing librarians from public, school, and college/university libraries will win $5,000 each in recognition of their outstanding service to their communities. If you know a librarian who’s gone above and beyond, especially during the pandemic, submitting a nomination is the perfect way to thank them. Learn more and submit a nomination at ilovelibraries.org/ilovemylibrarian. If one of our librarians has gone above and beyond this year for you, please nominate them! Getting public recognition like this is a great way to say thank you to them.
