This spring, SCC’s Senior Youth and Young Adult team worked with the SCC Office of Education for the second-ever virtual week of prayer for all students. The theme Like & Follow reminded students that Christ likes and follows them, and it also encouraged them to like and follow Him in return. Trust in the Lord! So thankful we can take refuge in Him

He came so that we may have life

We live a new life through faith in Christ

"I am starting up Sidekicks, an inclusion ministry for kids and teens with disabilities. Families are paired up with volunteers who help facilitate relationships with other kids. 85% of families who have a child with a disability are "unchurched" according to a recent Barna Group study. Through my work, I've been blessed to be a part of Surfer's Healing, a ministry for kids with autism. My Autism Ohana is my all time favorite community of people. The warmth and love of my Autism Ohana is what I picture Heaven feeling and looking like. I'm hoping to bring a bit more of that inclusive love to Long Beach church." Jesus declares that He is the good shepherd

This past Saturday, Brazilian Church Los Angeles held a special worship service to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The service took place outdoors at Lower Scholl Canyon Park in Glendale, where about 30 people participated. Women's Ministry counsellor Lene Salles shared the message with the theme: A Touch That Can Save Your Life. During October, women’s ministry created initiatives to strengthen and encourage women. Through a WhatsApp group, 32 women have shared their concerns and prayed over one another, which is how they began to support a friend of the church who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It’s important, now more than ever, to show love and offer support to those in our community. We’re so encouraged to see how Los Angeles Portuguese church has embraced its members in such personal ways
