Its now official, the US Geological Service has declared an impending end to the Glasseozoic Age. Scarab Glass Works was the last of the great glasssiosaurs and is soon to become extinct. We’d like to thank all of the great people that we’ve come in contact with over the past 43 years, we’ve been most fortunate to have had an excellent and friendly clientele. With almost zero bad checks, and giving the heave ho to a mere 3 unruly miscreants, its been a most enjoyable ride!... Getting to the focus of this diatribe, this letter is a notice of a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SALE 25% OFF ALL MERCHANDISE So come on by while the picking’s good; bring your friends neighbors, and house broken in laws. LISA FLETCHER WORKSHOP Lisa is back by popular demand!!!! April 13th and 14th 2019 Color magic... When you melt glass over glass, the sum of the colors can be unexpected and unique. All of the beads taught in this class will be made using layering techniques to achieve gorgeous color. Lots of Double Helix glass will be combined with other glasses to create impressive effects. Of course, great color needs a great base to show it off! The beads in this class are not difficult to make but look difficult. Step by step, they are constructed slowly and carefully. It takes time and patience to make a great bead! All of the class beads are encased in clear glass. Various encasing methods will be covered and students will marvel at the depth and sparkle they will achieve. In addition to the focal beads, students will start compiling a recipe book along with a beautiful strand of smaller beads made from their favorite color combo recipes to take home and easily remake. Best of all, there will be a detailed handout for every bead we make! No more worrying during demonstrations about keeping up taking notes and drawing pictures that you can’t figure out once you return to your domicile. The tuition for this two day event is $500.00 which includes materials and scrumptious lunches.

As you can see Lisa Fletcher's beadwork is nothing short of stunning! NEWS FLASH!!!! Due to a tumultuous positive response Lisa will be back at Scarab Glass on Sat and Sun.April 13th and 14th 2019. Page up for a class description of her latest class "COLOR MAGIC"... So we can now accommodate the many disheartened souls who were unable to join the weekend workshops due to class size restrictions. Yes! Her class description: Among the techniques you will learn in this class are layering, twisting, encasing and shaping beautiful base beads perfect for showcasing that awesome murrini you have been collecting for years. You will also learn how I cover a bead with thin stripes that swirl from end to end. Another fun technique I will teach is an easy and perfect way to encase beads that eliminates almost all of those pesky little bubbles that we try to avoid in our beads. The big petal beads will be another canvas for layering glass, including silver glass, to create unique and interesting shades and colors. I think all of us have accumulated lots and lots of glass that we haven’t used and I want to show you how much fun it is to experiment with what you already have. Making petal beads of this size requires some extra steps that you will learn to insure your success! The cost for the this fantastic 2 day class is $500.00 which includes materials, and good food. Just bring your torch, tools, and sharp wits.
