CoreNet Global launched into a brave new post-pandemic world with an in-person event this past Wednesday evening in UTC, San Diego. Many thanks to Magen Skaalen of SmithGroup who organized the event and invited Scantech Graphics to attend. Good to see Lesley Christensen, also of SmithGroup and Annie Cook of TuSimple there as well. It was amazing to hear how companies are going to manage employees coming back and employees that will not be coming back into the office but still... work from home. Companies are looking at how they will be managing vast areas of real estate and developing new strategies now that their day-to-day needs for that real estate has been drastically reduced. As a small business owner, I saw myself reflected in the stories they told of first thinking CoVid would be a 2-week disturbance, and then a 5-week disturbance, and then the reality sinking in that this was a long-term situation that would dramatically alter business practices for the foreseeable future. And, let's be honest, very few of us had any ability to even guess at the future in the early days of the pandemic. "Coming Together Again - Humans, Real Estate, and Implementation," presented by the Southern California Chapter of CoreNet Global was a riveting and thought-provoking panel discussion.
