Sacramento/Napa heart clinic set for November 28. For those who have contacted me and are interested in participating in the upcoming Heart clinic please message me so that we can set up an appointment. I am still looking for a neutral location in that area. Anybody have any thoughts or ideas or willing to offer up a small space in the garage is all I really need. I would like a minimum of 12 to 15 dogs scheduled and so far we are really close.

To all Breeder, exhibitors, Cat and Dog lovers and friends If you are not aware or may already know, OFA is no longer accepting echocardiograms for cardiac clearance by a Practitioner or Specialist Veterinarians. You can only get a Basic Clearance which is auscultation only by these two types of Vets. If you want or need a clearance by echocardiogram you must do the OFA accredited clearance which is by Cardiologist only. Unfortunately, there are not that many available and as... many of you have already experienced, they are not that breeder friendly in most cases. So, if you need something done ASAP, you might have a hard time. And if your fortunate enough to get in to one, be prepared to pay well over $600.00 on average. They will be charging you for the echo, an office visit and I have even heard that they are charging you to fill out the OFA application if you want it submitted. As many of you know me, I have been doing ultrasound and echocardiograms over almost 40 year now. I have been providing services at the dog shows in California and the surrounding States for 25 years. I work with several qualified and Licensed Veterinarians who assist me with the competition of your examination. Due to the overwhelming response by all of you, I will still be offering my services with the exception that they will not be submitted to OFA. I offer the complete examination with full calculations just like the accredited cardiac program offered by OFA signed by a Licensed Veterinarian. The only difference between OFA and myself is I will not be publishing results on a public website for everyone to be able to check for health testing. But I won’t just be giving you a certificate with a number that only says that you passed but I offer a full evaluation that enables you to make a sound decision in your breeding program. With that being said, I am planning a trip to Napa the weekend following Thanksgiving for a private heart clinic. I would like to do one in the Sacramento area and then stop by Bakersfield on my way home. Murierra, Ca OFA heart clinic I have changed the date for this clinic from September 28 to Sunday, September 27. The office has become available for my use on Sunday which might make it easier for everybody else. This will be your last chance to get an OFA cardiac clearance done by practitioner as the changes Go into affect October 1 requiring all echocardiograms be done by a cardiologist. They’re readily unavailable and very expensive.
