Today We honored Queen Jeanie McKnight Gaines a Legend of the Riverside Area for life long service to the community. I remember being a young girl marching in the Riverside parade and I would hear her say on the microphone Give the Drummers Some as she announced the parade year after year. It’s My Director-Versary Today Marks 3yrs that my shero Ms Parker announced her retirement and passed the torch to me. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve made history, we’ve broken records, we’ve won, we’ve lost, lives have been changed, livers we’re lost, some graduated, some went to college, we’ve fed the hungry, we’ve clothed the community, we’ve served the politicians, we’ve honored the legends, we’ve celebrated the Hometown Heroes, we’ve made the news, we’ve spoke on... the radio, weve traveled near and far, we’ve promoted unity, we’ve shut down theaters, we’ve had fun, some have come, some have gone. Through all the good times and bad times were still here and as your San Bernardino Pacesetter Director I can promise nothing but growth & success as a squad and as individuals. I Believe in this Legacy that began in 1959 and will continue until the end of time. No one can take away the achievements thus far.
