Hi Everyone! We will be participating in the Mural Painting Kick-Off Event tomorrow, September 5th from 8 am-11 am! We encourage you all to come out to paint with the community... There will also be a Children's Book Giveaway, for ages 5 to 18, thanks to Lifting Our Stories. Thanks to everyone supporting this mural project at the local community garden being organized by Huerta del Valle Ontario Community Garden and Loma Linda University Health... We want to thank everyone who has shared the donation link, everyone who has been able to contribute, the University of Redlands University of Redlands for contributing funds to this project, BZ of Zealous Branden Aguilera for helping print stickers and posters, Skool Boiz Skool Boiz for creating shirts and contributing his design to the effort. The painting will be led by a group of artists, along with support from the community of gardeners that has developed at the space. Everyone is welcome to join us on Saturday, but due to safety restrictions, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be able to contribute to the mural. We will all be wearing masks and following a 6 foot distance as best as possible. Groups of families will be able to paint together. Come learn about the garden and how to get involved. #Repost @icucpico ***SB Evictions Imminent*** We want to thank all our community members and community partners who answered the call to action to submit 29 public comments in regard to San Bernardino’s 2021 Annual Action Plan last week!... Our city leadership has failed to act proactively. There are no plans to extend the local displacement moratorium, meaning evictions will begin to be processed and enforced September 2nd. CA’s HUD Department has 45 days maximum to approve our annual action plan. Meaning there is no system of accountability in place for these funded programs until after September 2nd. It is important that we strengthen efforts to call our Senators and Assembly members to support AB 1436 COVID Tenant Eviction Protections and/or a reinstatement of Judicial Council Rule 1. The slight increase to $1,060,000 Eviction Prevention program to be run by the SB County Housing Authority was approved and will be available to our undocumented households, as CDBG Regulations do not prohibit assistance to undocumented households, they just require a state issued ID and lease with their name on it. The $4 Million in ESG funds has been allocated to Emergency Shelter categorized activities for homeless individuals: outreach, additional beds for overnight shelters, rapid rehousing, and case management support. This will be used through local direct service agencies: Community Action Partnership, Step Up on Second, Lutheran Social Services, Salvation Army, Mental Health Systems, and Family Service Association of Redlands. If San Bernardino’s Housing Issues matter to you and you’d like to know more and get involved please contact: Christian Flores: [email protected], @sbvalleyvixen #ICUC #ICUCPICO #PICOCA #Housingjustice #Noevictions #SanBernardino #SBCounty #InlandEmpire #ie #Redlands #Colton #Highland #Fontana #Rialto #Riverside #California #Housing

As essential workers are asking for PPE, hazard pay, and paid sick leave in order to do their jobs and keep our communities afloat, corporations are ignoring th...ose demands and responding with billboards and advertisements thanking essential workers. It’s time that our actions reflect our values. During this crisis, the billionaires are getting richer while essential workers earn less than a living wage. California leaders must #ChooseEssentialWorkers and pass laws that ensure all of us - not just a wealthy few - are safe and thriving. The SB Common Ground for Peace movement in San Bernardino is hosting an informational forum to educate folks on the city's "Measure Z Tax", will this save or hu...rt our city? We will also discuss the Bring the H.E.A.T. framework and how we know we can shift the culture of our police departments to one of transparency and accountability.
