ATTENTION PLEASE! It is with a great deal of sadness, and a great deal of excitement, that I announce the closure of Sawyers Automotive. First and foremost!! Let me assure you that all existing projects will be completed on schedule and as promised. I am no longer accepting new work, but I will continue to provide the same level of care and service that we have been known for towards the remaining projects in the shop. Once those projects are completed, I will be closing... the building and re-locating the facility. In regards to this decision; as a few of you may already know, Jasan has taken over his family shop, Keith's Auto Repair in north Fresno. RIP Blackie..........I'll never forget the day I met him and Ed Iskenderian at the Fresno State Concours. He had just restored the shishkebab special, and had it there along side ed's car with the overhead valve conversion on it. I walked up as a shy 15 year old and asked him if I could pick his brain about some flathead stuff, not even realizing that Ed was the fellow he was talking with. He laughed and asked me what i was on about, and I launched straight into asking abo...ut what might be causing me to blow head gaskets on my 3 3/8 block. They both kinda stared at me for a minute, asked me how old I was, and then proceeded to introduce me to Ed, which floored me, and then they both educated for about an hour. Great chat with two legends of hot rodding, and I got up to speed on a whole ton of flathead tricks.........will never forget that day! See more
