Please DO NOT bring your dogs to the trail. Dogs/pets are NOT permitted on this trail. There are signs posted at each entrance.

With holidays the trail gets busy, especially on weekends, please be respectful and courteous to each other. Stay on the right side and follow the guildelines for safety. This is a multiuse trail (non-motorized use).

Now there is a safe way to visit with those who aren't members of your household outdoors in select San Mateo County Parks. Up to 3 households & no more than 30 individuals can use drop-in picnic sites. Look for these signs! Available in these parks: https://bit.ly/361qNoK.

We are thrilled to announce that the Saratoga to Sanborn portion of the Saratoga to the Skyline Trail is now open to hikers! Our team spent five months working ...on these 2.65 miles, which are full of beautiful redwood bridges, switchbacks through the trees, and hidden rock benches. This trail offers unreal views of the Bay Area, and is not to be missed. During construction, the Trail Crew's skills were challenged with steep terrain and large-scale bridge work (the biggest bridge on the trail is 70' across). We couldn't be happier with the result. We loved working with the City of Saratoga for this project and we can’t wait for all of you to check out this magical spot. Please ensure you're being as responsible as possible for you and your young child/ren when on the trail - LEAVE NO TRACE! Dispose of all trash properly at designated areas. A BIG THANKS to our trail volunteers who are picking up trash on their way. Did you know that humans around the world purchase 1 MILLION single-use plastic bottles every MINUTE? On top of that, only about 23% of them end up being recycled, leaving the other 77% to last as pollution in landfills or the... environment for up to 450 years! Stop plastic pollution at its source and opt for a reusable bottle instead of single-use plastic bottles. Ready for something out of this world? Our Solar System is larger than the eye can see, but not farther than you can hike with our newest exhibit: Solar System... to Scale in San Bruno Mountain Park. Walk from the sun to the eight planets in its orbit with educational panels about each planet along the way in this Solar System that is 670 million times smaller than in space! This exhibit is a celebration of National Astronomy Week, which runs from November 14-21. It'll only be up for a few months so be sure not to miss it! As temperatures rise, the likelihood of seeing snakes, including rattlesnakes, on trails increases. Snakes seek the warmth of rocks and pathways and are usually spotted after sunrise and up to late afternoon. In very hot weather, snakes will be most active in cooler evening and early morning hours and they often seek shelter from the punishing sun in cool shade. To be safe, stay on the trail. While on the trail, be aware of your surroundings and look ahead when possible to see that the trail is clear. Snakes can be spotted on rocks, in the middle of the trail or off to the side of the trail. Do not pick up, disturb or corner a snake. Most often, once you move away, the snake will flee.
