IMPORTANT! The time has come to remind the SDUHSD Board of Trustees that their proposal to relocate their District office to Solana Beach is not supported. Remember, they want to take over the lower field of the Earl Warren Middle School campus to build a 25,000 sq ft Administration complex at a cost of approximately $20 million to accommodate over 100 District staff, plus serve the many thousands of parents and students from NINE middle schools and high schools throughout ...Encinitas, Solana Beach, Carmel Valley and Del Mar. Let them know how you feel by sending a letter NOW to the SDUHSD Board of Trustees. They need to know there is strong opposition to this. See http://www.saveewmsfield.com/ for more details on why this proposal is a bad idea. Send your letter to all the following individuals listed below. It needn’t be a long letter: [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]

The San Dieguito Union High School District said they hadn’t heard from Solana Beach and neighboring communities that there was opposition to this proposal. Let them know by signing this petition!

Pediatricians, teachers, parents and coaches all agree that outdoor activity is important for our kids’ physical, mental and emotional health. See what Lori Taylor, M.D. has to say:

Trustee Gibson at the February 27th SDUHSD Board meeting claimed that the lower field at EWMS is not used or needed. Apparently she is unaware of the long history of use by student PE classes, youth sports teams and the Boys and Girls Club. The field was closed in 2015 to accommodate the portable classrooms during Earl Warren’s and Skyline’s remodels. Since the construction was complete in 2018, the gates have been locked. The PE classes and Boys and Girls Club are allowed only to use the upper field and requests from non-profit youth organizations to rent the lower field have been refused by the District.
