Students in the Cerritos Character Builders program work together to make Elephant Toothpaste. Elephant toothpaste is a foamy substance caused by the rapid decomposition of hydrogen peroxide using yeast and warm water as a catalyst. The activity is called ’Elephant’s Toothpaste’ because the large stream of foam looks like toothpaste that is big enough for an elephant!
