What sets the WindCutter apart from other VAWTS is its proprietary braking system. It utilizes a disc brake with dual calipers to provide quick, reliable braking of the turbine. The braking action is automatically initiated if the wind speed or RPM go too high. And this mechanical braking system is engaged only after another electronic braking system first limits the turbines speed.
