Art Exhibition at CEC Dana Mano-Flank July 1st to December 31st 2020 Artist Dana Mano-Flank focuses on nature in her mixed-media paintings. Happy 50th Anniversary Earth Day 2020 Donate to Hakone http://www.hakone.com/donate-to-hakone.html... As we shelter in place, I become more appreciative of the beauty of nature that surrounds us. What I am missing most is the ability to visit the serene grounds of Hakone Gardens where I serve on the Foundation Board. Hakone is closed to public admissions, to reception and corporate meetings, and to special events such as bridal and baby showers, weddings and birthday celebrations. As a result, our Historic National Jewel has lost all sources of revenue and is sorely in need of financial help. Yesterday, the Foundation received great news! County Supervisor Joe Simitian secured for us a sizable grant that requires matching funds. These funds are directed toward the refurbishment of the Koi Pond. This pond is the heart and soul of the Hakone. The resident Koi are suffering from a leaky old shallow pond and are subject to constant predators like herons, egrets, and raccoons. If you have the means in these difficult times, please donate whatever amount you can and know that for each dollar donated, the County will be matching your gift.
