"San Francisco officials said Friday that the city was delaying plans to allow certain businesses including hair salons, museums and outdoor bars to reopen Monday following a spate of new COVID-19 cases. Earlier this week, the city announced plans to accelerate the reopening of the city’s economy by several weeks, citing favorable health data around new cases and hospitalizations. Now, hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, tattoo parlors, museums, zoos, bars with outdoor... seating and outdoor swimming facilities will have to remain shuttered on Monday. A rash of new cases 103 in total were reported Friday, raising concerns among city leaders and health officials. Speeding up the reopening was always contingent upon the number of new cases and hospitalizations remaining low. Our reopening process is guided by data and science. COVID-19 cases are rising throughout California, Mayor London Breed tweeted Friday. We’re now seeing a rise in cases in SF too. Our numbers are still low but rising rapidly. As a result, we’re temporarily delaying the reopenings that were scheduled for Monday. Public health experts, Breed said, will evaluate the data over the coming days to determine if it's safe to move forward. I know people are anxious to reopen I am too. But we can’t jeopardize the progress we've made."

Masks must not have vents. -Avoid any unnecessary conversation. Your stylist will consult with you in the mirror. Please face the mirror during the consultation, and avoid facing your stylist while speaking at all times. Once you have finished your consultation, please refrain from further conversation for the remainder of your appointment unless necessary. We understand the you have not seen your stylist in a while and are probably eager to catch up, but talking in a setting where you are in close proximity to each other, even through a mask, makes transmission of the virus very easy. Protecting our stylists and clients must be our top priority. -Blowdrys will not be offered. To minimize air flow between client and stylist, we will not be offering blowdrys. You can arrive to your haircut appointment with clean styled hair and have it cut dry, or have your hair washed before or after the cut and leave with damp hair. Clients receiving chemical services will leave with damp hair. Alternatively, your hair can be partially dried under a heat lamp. -Beverages and magazines will no longer be offered. We know these things have been a part of your salon experience up to now. We look forward to a time when it will be safe to offer these amenities again. Thank you for your cooperation!
