4th stop for our SCKA @socal_kayakanglers club tournament at Lake hodges with some heavy hitters and elite kayak anglers. Total grind of a day with only 7 limit...s. Was only able to put up 3 fish on the board and still put me on top 10. Was hoping for a better placement but ill take it. Congrats to all that got on the $$$. Good times and see you all on the next. #bassopportunity #kayakfishingaddicts #kayakfishingadventures #kayakbassfishing #socalkayakanglers #socalfishing #sandiegofishing #calibassbaits #9k-elitelures #onyxoutdoors #tifosioptics #trccovers #wootungsten #hookedbaitandtackle #oldtowncanoe #oldtownfishing #adventureliveshere #lakehodges See more

Well, the season is over. Not what we wanted in the El Cajon Ford TOC, but a fair result. We only had 12.87 (12th on the day) at Otay, but had a stronger 20.34 ...at El Cap (4th on the day), so 8th overall. Actually, we had the fifth best total weight, but the event uses a point system based on each day's finish and then combined. Mike was big at El Cap with two of our three biggest--and he was big all year. When his Mom heard about the better second day she texted asking, "What's the payoff?" to which he replied, "Sense of pride." #Daiwathankyou #MMiii #GetdownPhenix #ThanksReginaSeaberg See more

Great memories of a past event. Create a new memory this September 12 and 13th 2020 at the Paul Meader Memorial. Always remember El Cajon Ford supports Bass fishing here in San Diego county big-time. Can you say that with any other car dealership you might be dealing with?

Something good always comes from something bad Anglers... In January 2020, the City of San Diego had already proposed a reduction to the FY 2021 budget which included the closing of Sutherland and Barrett reservoirs. In addition, they planned on revoking the privileges of water contact users at Lake El Captain which would have been illegitimately approved without any protest from the Recreation Committee just like when the City took additional days of operation from the lakes. When authorities closed the lakes because of Covid-19 we, the fishermen and other lake users grew very concerned about the status and future use of our lakes. All the petitions, emails and letters to the San Diego City Council and the San Diego County Supervisors, from the community at large helped in many ways. The City Council and County Supervisors now understand that the lakes are just as important as other programs to the citizens of the City and County for recreation in San Diego. They also know that with the newly formed Ad-Hoc Committee, (San Diego Recreation Freedom Alliance Committee), the concerned citizens of all of San Diego has a voice. This Committee not only proposed ideas that helped inform elected officials in re-opening of the lakes, we are now moving forward in helping the City to restore the lakes to their deserved status. This should allow all concerned to raise these lake assets to be another recreational option for people to enjoy just as Balboa Park and the Beaches. With the continued opening of recreation and businesses in the San Diego area under the Health Department guidelines, the Mayor was finally forced to open the remaining lakes. With monies from Federal and State agencies allotted to the City and County from Covid-19 funds, not only were San Vicente,, Hodges and El Capitan with out water contact opened as proposed before the pandemic closures, we also got back Sutherland and Barrett. This is a win, win for recreation in the San Diego area brought on by the honest efforts of many people including Poway Mayor Steven Vaus and city councilman Scott Sherman and county supervisor Diane Jacob. With continual help and input from the community and users of the lakes working in concert our informed elected officials, we will succeed in our quest for information about processes and procedures as they affect citizen users. San Diego Recreation Freedom Alliance will continue advocating for our rights and privileges with appropriate authorities. This small victory was a community effored not just one person or one commitee. Please visit us on facebook at California Recreation Freedom Alliance for more information and how you can help ensure access to and use of our local lakes and reservoirs for now and future generations. Note: Am working on the San Diego teams tournament dates and lake with the City Lake Manager will keep you posted. California Recreation Freedom Alliance Founder Jim Sleight
