If you see a coyote during the daytime, you should be cautious, as the coyote may have become habituated to humans, and possibly more likely to attack. If you are approached by a coyote, you should yell, wave your arms, and/or throw something at the coyote (do not run away). Keep smaller animals on a leash or indoors and secure your outdoor food supplies. This past Sunday, Santee Lakes hosted local Troop 395 for a hands-on wildlife informational experience and lake cleanup. The troops were able to learn about a few of our local resident birds, fish, and reptiles including an Osprey, Barn Owl, California King snake, Rosy Boa, and more! Troop 395 also helped us pull more than three pounds of trash from the south Lake 3 shoreline. A special shoutout to Ranger Rob for the assist!
