So I come up to the TSA officer who is to pat me down and do a "random" search. He looks attentively at my shirt and starts to ponder. After a bit he says "Are...n't you the guys who provided us food during the government shutdown?" He then extends his hand and says "Thank you for considering us. Thank you for helping us." It's these interactions which drive us to do the work we do. Blessed to be called by the sangat of Calgary to update them on UNITED SIKHS Panjab Relief. Thanks to Seva group donors, Mandeep Sidhu & her husband,Buta Veer ji and family for delivering subway sandviches, cookies and chips for 40 Emergency Room staff members of Kaiser. We appreciate the first responders in this global pandemic. We thank the volunteers and donors from Sikh temple of Santa Rosa. We will try to reach out to other hospital ERs locally as well as firefighters and the police department also, to appreciate their services.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our Homeland Security Director, Deputy Sandeep Singh Dhaliwal, who was shot while conducting a traffic stop on Friday afte...rnoon. He proudly served #HarrisCounty #Texas as a 10 year veteran, his country and the world as a #Sheriff and a #Humanitarian. In the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Maria, he led a team of #UNITEDSIKHS volunteers to provide disaster relief to those in need across Texas, #Florida and #PuertoRico. In #Punjab #India, he led the effort to help us provide humanitarian aid for farmers working to survive a record drought. We will help establish a fund for his family and assist in any way needed. Our legal department is also working with local authorities to ensure the assailants behind this heinous crime will be brought to justice.
