Work continues on the North Trunk Sewer Replacement Project in the Chanate/Mendocino area of northeast Santa Rosa. Today, City engineers and local crews are in the process of drilling large and very deep vertical bore pits within Strawberry Drive and Chanate Road. The deepest bore pit on Chanate Road will be drilled to a depth of nearly 40 feet. Once the bore pit drilling is complete, a boring machine, pipeline and workers will be lowered into the pits to begin the trenchless pipeline installation. The westbound traffic detour is in effect so drive with caution through the detour area and the construction zone.
