Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July!
We love bugs, but litterbugs, not so much. There are trash cans at the trailheads so it's super easy to place your waste in them before you hit the trails or when you're done. Don't be like this person and trash up the beautiful trails.
Be sure to get out early, bring plenty of water and wear a hat and sunscreen. Stay heat safe on the trails!
Fog creeping over the hills looking southwest. Make sure you stay on marked trails and keep an eye out for snakes. 'Tis the sssseason.
Like the Phoenix out of the ashes... so is the beautiful new pavilion, basalt rock seating walls and Native American tiles in the new cement floor. All the work is finished! Thank you to all the many donors and vendors who helped complete this project.Stay tuned for a future "ribbon cutting" event!
We are unable to hold the regular summer art and concert series this summer as the Visitor Center will remain closed through the summer months. HOWEVER! Join is for a "recovery" Garth Brooks tribute Cowboy Jubilee concert and BBQ at a horse ranch in Tenaja Valley! Click here for event details and tickets: https://srpcowboyjubilee.eventbrite.com YEEHAW!
It's going to be hot hot hot! Make sure you bring plenty of water
It's been near perfect hiking weather lately. Nice breezes, abundant sunshine and beautiful scenery.
There's benches dotted throughout the trails if you want to sit and gaze. Have a gaze!
Nature's bouquet basking in the sun.
The Mountain Lion story on the Plateau was presented at the Nature Education Resource Forum on Saturday, May 22. Thank You Dr. Winston Vickers from the UC Davis Wildlife Center for the information and for your work to protect the threatened mountain lion!
Beautiful layers at the Plateau.
