Free fishing day this Saturday, July 3rd, 2021, no sport fishing license needed in california for those 16 years & older. The California Department of Fish & Wildlife has 2 free fishing days each year, typically in July and September. Go out and take your family fishing this Holiday weekend! And remember send those pics in!

Sometimes even the admin gets a day on the water! Lol. Club Member Ray Williams and Myself made a trip out to Anacapa. The White Sea Bass and Yellowtail didn’t cooperate but came home with a few Whitefish. Wasn’t exactly what we hoped for but at least we didn’t get totally skunked!

Have you been to the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife website recently? Go click on the apprentice hunt applications link and follow the instructions to see all of the jr. hunt opportunities the state has, and check back often. Currently it is full of pheasant hunts for apprentice hunters, and late season waterfowl hunts. But depending on the time of year you could also find opportunities for pig, deer, quail, dove, etc https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/ApprenticeHunts/Default.aspx

Hi members , We had to hold a Board meeting last week and all Directors with a heavy heart had to make some hard decisions for the rest of the year . Due to the Covid situation and County and City guidelines without certainty , The Board of Directors have CANCELLED all Meetings , Fall Classic and Christmas Party for the rest of the 2020 year . We hope to resume meetings again on the 2nd Tuesday of January 2021 if guidelines permit .
