Florida private family organization, @volofoundation has joined the 29th Run for the Trees Jeannette Genius McKean Memorial 5K presented by the Center for Health and Wellbeing as the official sustainability partner. The annual event will take place on Saturday, April 30th at the Ward Park in Winter Park, starting at 7:30 am. Hosted by The City of Winter Park and Track Shack, Run for the Trees 5k is a unique point to point event. The last mile is on the tree-canopied, wilde...rness dirt road of Genius Drive. This privately owned glimpse of old Florida is opened to the public only once a year, for this event. In an effort to make it sustainable, this year there will be no disposable water cups. In addition, participants who cross the finish line will receive a Tree Sapling, instead of a medal. Twenty four individuals from Central Florida will run as part of the Team VoLo Foundation. The Black Eyed Peas, who embraced Latin music on their 2020 album "Translation," opened the show with a heartfelt tribute to the people of Ukraine and performed a bilingual rendition of "Where Is the Love?" While Karol G sat out this year's Latin AMAs, the Colombian pop star picked up the prize for artist of the year, while her third album "KG0516" clinched album of the year. Rapper Bad Bunny, also not in attendance, nabbed song of the year for his multiplatinum single "Dákiti."
