Well, disc golfers, I don't have the best news to share today. I just learned the rumors are true in regards to planned changes to the back 9. What is planned is to utilize the big dirt field and convert it to 3 lighted grass fields, add a bathroom and additional parking. I'm told there are plans for disc golf by the project manager though no details were given yet. I do have a meeting in several weeks to find out was options we have. Of course, I believe this is a shame o...n several different levels. For one, and this happens on both the front and back 9, is the "cross contamination". Where one activity interferes with another. Before the last change to the back 9 we had continuous "cross contamination" on the first three holes that skirted the grass field in front of the dog park. Naturally, this was a safety issue more than a convenience issue for us disc golfers. It took the city over 1 year to make the changes to what the back 9 is now. I have included my ideal proposal in case plans change and disc golf can remain on the back 9. This would remove majority of all "cross contamination" issues currently experienced. It would cost a fraction to make the changes to include landscaping improvement in addition to irrigation. And still room for additional parking. Let me know what you think about all this. Best regards, Bob
From what I’ve heard this will be the last league of the year. I’ll be honest, I’m not happy about there being a $12 fee this time. This is a change from the fee for the tournaments they’ve run in the past where they request donations for the food pantry. The purpose of the two leagues the city ran provided a distraction in what seems to be one of the wildest years many of us have witnessed. Pay and play this upcoming league if you desire. I won’t judge anyone who wants ...an added incentive to play a fun sport. It’s that the revenue generated is minimal at best. You’ll still have to contend with what the city calls cross contamination. That is where if someone would like to set up a picnic or practice on the course you won’t be able to play due to the fact they used the area before you. Not trying to turn this into a rant. Just providing details.
I am I sure if the tranfer worked but I am no longer apart of this community as I have moved out of state. Your requests and recommendations can be forwarded to Bob Hoff as he is the owner now. Thank you
It’s a good time of the year for this.
So, there's been interest in a weekly @ Central Park. I'm not going to start running it again though I can help get it started. How about this Sunday @ 10:00 $5 random doubles? Meet on hole 1. Don't worry, the round will be over way before "the big game". If we can get 5 others to confirm then I'll see you this Sunday.
Though this page is used for checking in by others participating in activities other than disc golf, I don't mind. I actually encourage it. Though, I do have to warn you that if we ever meet I will steer the conversation towards disc golf :D Anyway, here's some good news. Just found out Legacy discs are being sold at the Kwik Stop Liquor store right near Central Park. Go take a look at 26846 Seco Canyon Rd, Saugus, CA 91350. For beginners I recommend staying on the front 9 using a Clutch putter and a Gauge midrange. Master those and you can upgrade to a Patriot and Outlaw for the back 9. Enjoy!
Another tournament!
Come on, DGers, let's throw!
I love watching tournaments of pros on courses I've played. How about you? https://youtu.be/vYIQllgtVf8
Lots of fun was to be had and we had it.
** Attention ** sign in is bear hole 9 on the front. Just head to the softball fields and when you're in the middle of them turn right. You'll see it.
Today is the day for the tournament. Yes, it rained and yes, it has stopped. Hope to see you out there.
The whole back 9 is tilled. Saturday should be interesting.
The city is hosting a tournament this Saturday. If you have lost a disc(s) hit me up. I'm bringing several unmarked ones with me. Oh, this is Bob Hoff.
With one can you can have tons of fun.
