Sheriff Brown and Chief Hartwig took a moment this morning to remember and honor those who were lost on September 11, 2001. Sheriff Brown said As we observe Patriot’s Day and all that it represents- let us honor and be grateful for the value of life, for those who were loved and lost, for our nation’s unparalleled resilience, and for the unbeatable and unstoppable nature of the American spirit. Let us remember the heroism and self-sacrifice of the firefighters and law enforc...ement officers who ran into those burning buildings at Ground Zero that day when everyone else was trying to get away. Let us look back with pride, as we deal with that lump in our throats, with those tears in our eyes, let us remember that we have a duty to never forget. #neverforget #wtc #911 #america #firstresponders #911memorial #sbsheriff #sbcfire See more

A few hours ago, a very adorable 5-year-old came by to drop off a note for deputies along with cookies (peanut butter chocolate chip) that he made with his mom. Lieutenant Welch met Mason in the lobby before he took a tour of the station including checking out Sheriff Brown’s office. Mason asked the Sheriff which of the hats on his shelf he wore the most and then asked his tour guide, Sergeant Morris, to show him where the bandits are. #805strong #community #bettertogether #adorablekids

Yesterday, Deputies responded to a business in Buellton to investigate a counterfeit bill being passed at the register. Turns out 17 year old Jayden, had been saving his spare change for months and he wanted to purchase something nice for his birthday. He put his saved coins into a coin sorter and provided his voucher to the business. The business provided Jayden with cash, including one $100 dollar bill that ended up being a counterfeit. The bill was rejected by the ATM wh...en Jayden attempted to deposit it and unfortunately, the store was unable to provide Jayden with a new valid bill. Deputies working in Santa Ynez heard about the incident and quickly raised $100 so Jayden could buy himself something nice for his birthday. Underneath his mask, Jayden was all smiles! Happy Birthday Jayden! #sbsheriff #strongertogether #lawenforcement #patrol #deputy #solvang #buellton #santaynezvalley #feelgood #805strong See more

This week, a young man reached out in hopes to meet a deputy, who left a lasting impression on him, over 10 years ago. Sergeant Padilla was just as excited to see the young man and he remembered the event, like it was yesterday. Moments like these, show our Deputies the many ways they have impacted the lives of others, within the communities they serve. Happy national police week to all our men and women in law enforcement. #sbsheriff #brbcrying #lawenforcement #police #sheriff #patrol #deputy #sergeant #joinsbsheriff #strongertogether #nationalpoliceweek #thinblueline
