Check out the PICTURES from The Jake Mackey Band's Performance Yesterday at SCU's Music at Noon!
Jake Mackey carries tradition of the masters before him, taking cues from Otis Redding, Freddie King, and Johnny Cash. Bringing some serious guitar vocabulary to the table, you're just as likely to hear him emulate Hendrix as you are likely to see him perform Red Hot Chili Peppers or Sublime tunes. With Steve Froberg on bass, (Spencer Burrows on keys), and John Lazarus on drums, Jake snapped up one of the Bay Area's most slamming rhythm sections. One show and your hooked for good. http://www.myspace.com/jakemackeyandthemuddysunsband http://www.jakemackey.com/
Come check out the JAKE MACKEY band tomorrow (Wed.) at Noon in the Recital Hall. They're going to be amazing, and the show is FREE... don't miss it!
Pianist / composer Roy Brown is a consummate San Francisco musician. Touring the US, Mexico and China, its still hard to find a night he and his band are aren’t at one of San Francisco’s live jazz clubs - the clubs whose musicians are cultural bedrock to the City by the Bay. Active leading workshops and jazz classes in Bay Area high schools, Roy appears with long time friend - another Bay Area staple - vibraphonist Yancie Taylor. The trio is rounded out with Eugene Warren on Bass. http://www.myspace.com/roybrownjazz; http://www.yancietaylor.com/about.html
