Today is the day - Election Day 2020! Get out there and vote - visit our voter guide at www.svgop.com - then be sure to track your ballot to ensure that it is counted. Information on polling locations and how to track your ballot may be found at www.sccvote.org. If you're not registered, you can do SAME DAY voter registration at the polling place. Polls are open 7 AM - 8 PM. Mail-in ballots MUST be postmarked by today. The importance of today's Presidential race cannot be u...nderstated, but don't forget to carefully consider the local candidates and the ballot measures - many are also listed in our voter guide, such as No on 15, No on 16, Yes on 20, Yes on 22, No on 25. Nationally, the choice is more stark than at any time in recent history, between: 1. A President with 3 1/2 years of noteworthy achievement and four more years of peace deals, respect for religious liberty, support of the 1st and 2nd Amendments, empowerment for Black Americans, interdicting human traffickers, slowing the pace of unlawful border crossings with the border wall, appointing Constitutionalist judges, a more nimble and flexible economy unburdened by high taxes and regulations (the better for recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic shock), no new wars, and not handing cash to terrorist-sponsors in the government of Iran, and no cozying up to the dictator in Venezuela or the Chinese Communist leadership; or, 2. A former Vice President who changes his view on a whim to suit his audience and, when doing anything, has been wrong on so many things for 47 years - Crime Bill, Bin Laden raid, Iran deal, Russia - plus four years of higher taxes, more regulations, less free speech, less religious liberty, misguided foreign policy, the growth of Big Government and centralized control of our lives from Washington, DC, less respect for private property, Beto seizing your guns, radicals back in charge of the bureaucracy, liberal judges implementing what the left cannot achieve through legislation, reopening the flood of illegal immigrants, rewarding millions of them with taxpayer-funded health insurance and citizenship, and children and government workers being indoctrinated with historically inaccurate, crypto-Marxist Critical Race Theory. The choice could not be more clear. Love him or hate him, President Trump has delivered on his promises to the American people and has accomplished more in 3 1/2 years than Biden has in 47 years. You may not like Trump's style or bombastic behavior or his tweets, but you cannot deny his accomplishments. This contrasts markedly with a career politician, Joe Biden, with 47 years of failure and fecklessness. Let's win this one to protect future generations from creeping socialism. As the great President Reagan once said, "Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction."

If you haven't voted yet, get out there and cast a vote for the Republican team - help create some much-needed balance to Democrat one-party control in Sacramento!

While COVID-19 is a serious disease, our governor's orders place far more burdens on speech, religious conduct, and commercial activities than needed to achieve the stated health purpose. Congressional District 17 Candidate, Ritesh Tandon, has joined with small business owners to hold Governor Newsom and his officials accountable for their overreach and unfair directives. Happy Columbus Day to all people celebrating the contributions of Italian Americans in the USA. Columbus Day was formed as a day of Italian-American pride and solidarity. The first commemoration of Columbus Day was held in New York in 1792 and the day was first celebrated in San Francisco in 1869.
