There is a Charter Review Commission meeting tonight at 5:30. We would like as many members as possible to show up and testify. Here are suggested taking points: The call for justice has come at monumental cost, that this nation will need to begin rectifying through actions that enforce accountability for the humanity of ALL people. The community’s relationship with the police department is largely fractured because of a lack of trust and the lack of accountability enforc...ed. This must be changed immediately. I would like to ask for the Charter Review Commission to evaluate the following: 1. Evaluate an elected police chief 2. Evaluate the need to have a police commission made up of residents, similar to that what SF has. 3. Evaluate the need for an elected police auditor with subpoena power. 4. Evaluate if data on police encounters that provide transparency should be included as a change in the charter. 5. Evaluate if our green lining policies are resulting in making our community less affordable to live in. We recently saw Rev. Moore leave the community due to affordability issues. Here is the Commission Information and Login info: The meeting is 6/28 at 530pm.
