More from my March Death Valley trip...

Greetings photographers and fellow shutterbugs, I just returned from a 5 day photo trip to Death Valley. During my explorations I discovered this salt pool and decided to return for some night photography. Just before the Milkyway began to fade on the morning of March 14th the International Space Station made a transit across the sky. I was able to capture it's reflection along with the Milkyway in this image.

I took this image while on a photo trip to the Merced NWR. Normally with birds in flight I will shoot at a fast shutter speed in order to freeze the action. This time I used a shutter speed of 1/6 second while panning with the birds to capture a different feeling of motion. Paul

Comet Neowise at Mission San Juan Bautista. The comet is fading, the moon is getting brighter and photographing the comet is becoming more of a challenge. I was still able to get this image even though the comet was barely visible to the eye. Sony A7R2 with Sony 70-200/2.8 GM.

The comet is now visible an hour or so after sunset. The light pollution from San Jose and the bay area cities make it difficult to see. However, if you can find a dark location the comet is visible to the naked eye. Bring binoculars for best viewing.
