#TuesdayTrivia The Sanitation Districts treat about 400 million gallons of wastewater per day, which is enough to fill the Rose Bowl nearly five times a day.
Fact: Real Christmas trees can be recycled. Many trash haulers collect trees for two weeks after Christmas. These trees are then shredded to produced mulch. Check with your city’s website to see if your city is participating in a tree recycling program.
Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands or down the toilet where the environment may be impacted. We were happy to see that thousands of people from across the country turn in - safely and anonymously - a record amount of prescription drugs. Don't miss Saturday's National Drug TakeBack Day and visit https://takebackday.dea.gov/ to find a location near you.
Thank you to our speakers, Navnit Padival, Matt Zurro, and Robert Aguinaga for presenting on the cutting-edge recycling equipment recently installed at our Puente Hills Materials Recovery Facility.

This year, as communities across America faced the public health threat of the coronavirus pandemic, water and wastewater systems continued to do their job, 24/7, keeping the water flowing. Many Americans take water for granted every day. But what would a day be like without water? Imagine a Day Without Water 2020 is the sixth annual day to raise awareness and educate America about the value of water in our lives.
