The estate of pioneering lesbian filmmaker and alum Barbara Hammer recently donated $27,000 to SF State’s Queer Cinema Project, matching a challenge grant from the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation. The School of Cinema and the Queer Cinema Project are vital parts of the University, Hammer’s widow Florrie Burke said. To support them is an honor and a testament to the beginning of Barbara Hammer’s long career.
