Still moved by yesterday’s workshop. It was an honor to share the teachings and tools that we are so passionate about, and that we use in our daily lives and with our clients. We had a beautiful group of people who were deeply engaged. They shared their wisdom and vulnerability, and together we created a gorgeous, intimate space to examine and shift the stories that cause a sense of powerlessness and struggle. I can’t wait to lead this work again with Jayantii in March, and be in conversation with our next group!

We can always find justification to have a heart at war - where our passion and purpose are tied up in attack and defense reactions; where people are cast in fixed roles as an abuser, an oppressor and perpetrator versus their actions are abusive, oppressive, or perpetrate a form of violence. I believe this is a subtle and important distinction. I believe one makes a generality that takes aim at a person's entire being and existence, and one addresses with specificity the be...havior that you take issue with and that you hold a boundary around. When I am filled with rage, I can lose sight of this distinction and struggle with how to stand for what I believe in and how to protect myself from harm. At times, I discharge that rage as a weapon of attack, blame, shaming and self-righteousness - as a calling out versus an attempt to speak directly to the person's heart. I talk at with energy of "look at your shit and feel like the shit that you are." I am hard, harsh and bitter with resentment, and I feel right in my reasons because they are doing this or that first. At other times, I get present to my reactivity and choose to forgo the seduction of indulging in the instant payoff of popping off, and I use my rage to distinguish where I stand and then channel that passionate rage of the heart into creating what I wish to see. I respond to the circumstance with intention and am more interested in talking with, versus at, in service of creating understanding and pathways to peace. And for those times when my boundary is to not speak or engage with that person/persons at all, I have both chosen to cling to the false protection of self-pity and hatred, and root into my certainty of who they are and what I deem they are capable of, and I have also chosen to hold an open-hearted space, with prayers and hopes of healing and transformation, beyond what I may even envision or understand. We all get hooked and taken away. We all dump our shit in the space. And anytime where we have felt the urge to add to the drama and instead chose to take responsibility to clean up our side of the street, we created space to invite lasting change and elevate consciousness. I want to stand for versus against. I want to refocus all my anti-this and anti-that energy into what I'm truly for and wanna be about. It is a BIG challenge, especially in our current climate. It is an intention that calls upon my true nature of love and invites me to live into it moment by moment. The intention is the stake in the ground that tethers me to come back home when I've gone away from myself on yet another ego-trip. I want to share how inspired and grateful I am, for all the moments I witness where someone stands in the face of immaturity and chooses to go high (as Michelle Obama said). It gives me hope, reminds me of what's real and reorients me to who I am and want to be. Wishing us all a vibrant new year that is lead from the heart.
