Last year, I was helping out on a trial in Santa Ana with this fine young man. After we finished our nightly planning session, we talked about taking a quick business portrait. I only had a speedlight and a $12 umbrella and a 7' light stand. After doing some math in my head with the inverse square law and other properties of light, we pushed furniture out of the way to have him lean agaisnt the white wall to get a kick back from the wall to light up the otehr side of his face.... I put the umbrella as close as I could to him and took this picture. I think this was the first shoot we did in the new studio. Body painting on my freind @cfwarrior_ashley done by @jenjennyjennifer_. We actually had a sky light that was creating lots of ambient light that we needed to get rid of for hte black lights to work. So, I bought a bunch of black poster board and used the 7' tall printer box from my printer to create a little black chamber and draped black muslin over the topto drape us in the shooting cavern. Internet, I need your help. As I'm uploading these pics, I'm trying to decide which is the best of the three. The problem is I love each of them like I love my own children. I like the soft expression in the first one as she's in the sun with her eyes closed. I like the second one the way she's casually glancing back and the sun outlining the contours of her face.
